What we collect, and what happens to it

The whole of it is the contact form.

Last updated 31 August 2026

This website is run by tapco Co., Ltd. in Tokyo, which operates OTO. This page sets out what the site collects, where it is held, how long it stays there, and how to have it removed.

The only thing this site collects is what you type into the contact form and send us. There is no analytics, no advertising, and nothing that follows you from one site to another.

What the contact form collects

When you send an enquiry we receive the fields you filled in, which are the ones you can see on the form:

  • Your name
  • Your company, if you give one
  • Your email address
  • The kind of enquiry you picked
  • Your message
  • Your timeline and budget range, if you choose them

What is recorded alongside it

Four things are attached to a submission that you do not type. They are the page you were reading when you opened the form, the time you sent it, and, where the link you followed carried them, the subject and the item it referred to.

Those last two are how an enquiry about a particular episode or a particular piece arrives already attached to the thing it is about, rather than as a message that could have come from anywhere. They are never shown to you and they are never used to identify you.

The form also carries one field that is always empty and hidden from you. Automated spam fills it in, and anything that arrives with it filled is discarded.

Where it goes

Submissions are captured by Netlify Forms, which is part of the service that hosts this site, and are stored in the site account there. A copy is emailed to us at the address below so that somebody sees it.

From there an enquiry is passed to our Notion workspace, which is where we track a conversation from the first message to the end of a project. Netlify and Notion are the only two services that receive it.

Enquiries are never stored in the system that holds the words on this website, and they are never sold, rented, or passed to anyone for advertising.

How long it is kept

We keep an enquiry for twelve months from the last time we were in contact with you about it, and then we delete it. A conversation about production runs over months rather than days, so twelve months is long enough to pick one back up after a season.

It is also short enough that we are not still holding a budget range from somebody we never worked with. Where a project is live, the twelve months runs from the last contact about that project rather than from your first message.

You can ask us to delete an enquiry sooner than that at any point, and we will.

Video and photographs

Craft Chronicles episodes carry a YouTube player. It is embedded through the address YouTube provides for this purpose, which does not set a cookie when the page loads. Pressing play hands you to YouTube, and their terms apply from that point.

Photographs are served from the content delivery network that stores them for us. It receives the request your browser makes for the image, as any image host does, and nothing else.

What this site does not do

There is no analytics on this website. Nothing counts your visit, records which pages you read, or builds a profile of you. There are no advertising tags and no tracking pixels. The site sets no cookies of its own.

Asking for a copy, or asking us to delete it

Write to us and we will send you everything we hold from your enquiry, or delete it, whichever you ask for. Please write from the address you used on the form, or tell us enough to find the message, so that we hand your details to you and not to somebody else.

We answer these within two business days, the same as any other enquiry.
